Preme

This free application for Windows-powered machines will help you squeeze more functionality out of your mouse. With a bit of help from Preme, you can adjust the volume just by scrolling on the taskbar. Or you can set the upper right hand corner to be a hot corner – and when you put the mouse in the upper right hand corner, Mozilla Firefox will launch. These features and more are nicely put at your disposal.

Here is what you have to do to get Preme up and running on your Windows-powered machine: download an executable, run it, click on “Agree and Install.” That is all. It will take but a moment to download the executable and it will take but a moment for the installation process to complete.

While Preme is running, you will see a star icon in the system tray. Right click it and you will be presented with two options: Quick and Settings. Left click it and you will be presented with the aforementioned Quick Menu. It lists the following options: On, Off, Close App, Settings.

You get to play around with Preme’s functionality from the aforementioned Settings menu. Here are some of the things you can do with Preme: long press to get a window to always stay on top, scroll down and a window will be minimized, create hot corners, create keyboard hotkeys, press ESC twice and it will function as Alt + F4, scroll on the taskbar to adjust the volume, scroll up to maximize a window, and more.

Seeing that Preme is offered for the great price of free, you have all the time in the world to uncover all the things you can do with the application.

Preme is free, it is quite easy to use, and it allows you to do lots of things with the mouse. I don’t see what’s not to like about it.
